Based in Peterborough, you will take a lead role in shaping the design strategy for treatment assets—ensuring solutions are innovative, buildable, efficient, and regulatory-compliant.
This position focuses on non-infrastructure assets—such as treatment works, pumping stations, chemical dosing systems, and boreholes—rather than pipelines or networks. You will be at the heart of delivering capital projects that help ensure a safe, sustainable water supply for the future.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Technical Leadership
Lead the design development of clean water treatment solutions for AMP8 capital projects.
Ensure technical solutions meet water quality standards, regulatory targets (e.g., PFAS, nitrate removal), and environmental commitments.
Act as the primary technical interface across design, delivery, operations, and supply chain teams.2. Design Oversight
Manage and direct multi-disciplinary design teams (civil, MEICA, process, chemical).
Oversee the production of technical documentation including drawings, specifications, design risk assessments, and feasibility studies.
Ensure that designs are aligned with project budgets, buildability requirements, operational needs, and programme timelines.3. Innovation & Value Engineering
Drive innovation through early contractor involvement, modular design, and digital design tools (e.g., BIM, digital twins).
Identify and implement value-engineered solutions that reduce cost, improve efficiency, and enhance sustainability.4. Stakeholder Engagement
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including Anglian Water, regulators, supply chain partners, and asset management teams.
Provide technical assurance and input at all project stages—from concept through to handover.5. Compliance & Governance
Ensure full compliance with DWI, WQ standards, H&S regulations (CDM), and @one Alliance delivery governance.
Champion a quality-first approach, contributing to continuous improvement and lessons learned programmes.Essential Experience & Qualifications:
Degree-qualified in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering (or related discipline).
Chartered or working toward chartership (ICE, IChemE, IMechE, CIWEM).
Extensive experience in the design and delivery of water treatment works and associated clean water non-infrastructure.
Strong understanding of chemical dosing systems, pumping stations, supernatant return systems, and borehole developments.
Demonstrated experience working within design & build environments and/or regulated utility frameworks (e.g., AMP7/8).
Proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams on capital investment programmes.Desirable Skills & Knowledge:
Experience with emerging contaminants (e.g., PFAS) and modern treatment technologies.
Familiarity with digital design tools (BIM, Revit, AutoCAD, GIS).
Knowledge of Anglican Water design standards and operational requirements.
Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance technical excellence with budget and programme constraints.
Ability to foresee and mitigate design risks early in the life cycle. Why Join the @one Alliance?
Work at the forefront of water innovation within one of the UK’s most collaborative and progressive alliances.
Help shape AMP8 outcomes that support environmental goals and resilient water infrastructure.
Hybrid working, excellent career progression opportunities, and a supportive, multidisciplinary environment

How to Find Hidden Semiconductor Jobs in the UK Using Professional Bodies like IET, SEMI & More

The UK semiconductor sector is expanding—from chip design and fabrication to testing, automotive systems, IoT and quantum applications. But most of the best roles in this mission-critical field are never advertised publicly, often staying hidden within the専門 technical community. In this guide, we’ll reveal how to access these hidden semiconductor job opportunities in the UK by leveraging membership of professional bodies like the Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET), SEMI, EPSRC/Semiconductor Research Group, TechUK, and grassroots electronics‑hardware communities. Learn how to use directories, SIGs, CPD events and industry networks to get your name in front of hiring managers—before roles hit job boards.

How to Get a Better Semiconductor Job After a Lay-Off or Redundancy

Redundancy in the semiconductor industry can be a shock—especially when your role is technical, precision-driven, and often tied to global supply chain dynamics. But with the UK government backing chip design and manufacturing through initiatives like the National Semiconductor Strategy, the future of the industry is strong. Whether you're a process engineer, chip designer, fabrication specialist, or semiconductor physicist, this guide will help you transition confidently into your next role.

Semiconductor Jobs Salary Calculator 2025: Work Out Your True Worth in Seconds

Why last year’s pay survey already fails UK chip talent Ask a Process Engineer tweaking plasma etch recipes at 3 a.m., a Verification Engineer draining simulation hours from an EDA licence, or a Power Device Physicist coaxing wide‑bandgap wafers out of an MOCVD reactor: “Am I earning what I deserve?” The honest answer swings faster than a stepper stage. Since early 2024, the UK announced a £1 billion National Semiconductor Strategy, Wales attracted a silicon carbide megafab, & supply‑chain re‑shoring dragged chip makers from Taiwan to Teesside. On the demand side, generative‑AI data‑centre GPUs vacuumed up every 2.5‑D packaging slot in Europe, while EV inverters devoured SiC MOSFET output. Each shock nudges salary bands. That renders any 2024 PDF salary guide obsolete—blind to Chester’s brand‑new photonics park, to Newport’s gigascale epi‑tool orders, or to Cambridge’s £200 million qubit‑foundry expansion. To drop guesswork & adopt evidence, SemiconductorJobs.co.uk has distilled a simple three‑factor formula. Feed in your discipline, UK region & seniority, and you’ll receive a realistic 2025 salary benchmark—no stale averages, no fuzzy “competitive” labels. This article walks you through the formula, spotlights the forces inflating chip‑industry pay, and sets out five actionable steps to raise your market value in the next ninety days.
