A rapidly growing Technical Manufacturer is now looking for an experienced Technical Author to join their new facility in Bristol.

In this role, you will create and refine highly technical documentation, prioritising content validation and review.

With the company’s strong commitment to the customer experience, this position is pivotal in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and timeliness needed to exceed our customers’ expectations.

Develop and maintain clear and concise technical documentation to support the high-tech product range.

In addition to your own writing, you will peer review other Author’s work.

Ensuring the user experience is first class, you will test and update documentation, including working in the onsite lab to validate procedures.

You should also be able to edit images and technical illustrations used throughout the documentation.

Working with all key stakeholders, you will write, review and present high quality plain English documentation for all users.

Qualifications:

You should hold a recognised technical authoring qualification (ISTC, NVQ, Diploma, etc.) or equivalent experience.

Experience:

As the successful Technical Author, you should have a minimum e of three years’ experience in a Technical Author role.

You should have a high level of competence in authoring software, preferably MadCap Flare, Adobe Acrobat and SolidWorks/Solid Edge.

Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in high tech manufacturing such as the semiconductor, electro-mechanical or scientific sector.

Experience should include writing documentation for scientific instrumentation and applying Simplified Technical English.

Additional Information:

Candidates must be eligible to work and live in the UK. Copies of Passports / Visas will be requested for verification.

Salary / benefits: c£38-46k, plus generous benefits

Job Term: Permanent, Full Time, Hybrid with min 3 days onsite.
