We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer, specialising in water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and experienced engineer to take a lead role in delivering high-impact projects within a growing and dynamic industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee the design, planning, and execution of mechanical engineering aspects of projects.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to mechanical engineers and project teams, fostering knowledge and excellence within the team.
Mentor and develop junior engineers and team members, supporting their growth.
Lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure, including P&IDs, valve schedules, pumps, tanks, process equipment, above-ground pipework, and lifting/access steelwork.
Coordinate with the wider design team, including Electrical, Civil, Geotech, and Process engineers.
Ensure adherence to client asset standards and engage in technical discussions regarding best practices and standards waivers.
Collaborate closely with commercial, operational, and construction teams to develop practical, efficient, and safe solutions throughout the design stages and construction phases.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, adopting a one-team approach to support their goals and objectives.
What You’ll Need:

Chartered Mechanical Engineer (or working towards Chartered status)
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, and standards related to process industries, particularly the water sector
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to manage multiple design tasks and meet deadlines
