About the job

Responsible for planning, managing, monitoring and controlling all aspects of individual projects from order acceptance through to final invoicing. Also responsible for achieving or exceeding the estimated Sales Margins whilst ensuring technical and contractual security of projects to the satisfaction of the customer.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead, Engage, motivate and support a team to deliver projects.

  • Timely execution of contracts from the Project Handover Meeting until customer acceptance and/or final invoice payment. On behalf of the customer the Project Manager co-ordinates resources to ensure:

    • Manufacture and/or installation of the plant/systems to meet the agreed scope and technical specification

  • Project Manager ensures:

    • Contracts are completed at or below the estimated cost

    • Additional charges are made for extra work or changes to the agreed scope of work in accordance with the conditions of the contract

    • Risks are minimized and according to levels of authority are highlighted to the Customer and PSM&A Operations Manager

    • Oversight of all Contracts being undertaken (ensure correct budget control, programme control, WIP reporting, invoicing are being carried out by Project Managers)

  • UK travel to visit customers and suppliers to ensure correct completion of the project

  • Limited International travel (within the EU) to visit suppliers for inspections etc.

  • People Management Skills

  • Ability to work on own initiative and with the resources provided to ensure contracts are executed profitably and safely

  • Ensures Company procedures and levels of authority are applied

  • Project management skills with strong planning and organisation

  • Great communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills at all levels

    Required Experience

  • Proven people management skills

  • Demonstrable Project Management skills from within the refrigeration (or related) sector

  • Background in mechanical/chemical or process engineering.

  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Project

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, pressure and instrumentation diagrams and preferably, electrical drawings.

  • Knowledge of general contract conditions and financial management
