Civil Design Engineer

A specialist engineering firm is looking for a Civil Design Engineer to play a key role in delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for infrastructure projects. The company works on major frameworks across the UK, focusing on the design and development of critical assets within the utilities and environmental sectors. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects that support long-term infrastructure resilience.

Key Responsibilities of the Civil Design Engineer include:

  • Develop cost-effective civil design solutions in line with project specifications and industry standards.

  • Conduct design analysis and calculations to ensure structural integrity and efficiency.

  • Perform site surveys and investigations to support project planning and execution.

  • Produce detailed engineering drawings and documentation using the latest design software.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards in all designs.

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and process engineers, to develop integrated project solutions.

  • Manage design projects effectively, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines and budgets.

  • Stay up to date with advancements in civil engineering technologies and best practices.

    Requirements:

  • Strong technical background in civil engineering, including resource management, hydraulics, and structural design.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modelling tools.

  • Experience in infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects, with knowledge of construction processes and regulatory frameworks.

  • Problem-solving skills to address engineering challenges in complex environments.

  • Project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and team coordination.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly in technical and non-technical contexts.
