Design Engineer required for a Machine Tool Manufacturer based in the Barnsley area. The successful candidate will have strong engineering qualifications and CAD skills (Ideally Solidworks).

Design Engineer Job Overview

Designing using Solidworks
Provide engineering assistance and expertise to Customer Services and Manufacturing department as necessary.
Support staff across the business to ensure any issues encountered are dealt with efficiently and disruption to overall process is minimised.
Ensure good workflow through your area of responsibility, identifying issues and resolving in a timely and efficient manner to ensure on-time delivery.
Identify process efficiencies and improvements, through the encouragement of continuous improvement.
Working to deadlines for the design/redesign/update of company manufactured products to meet company-defined standards and customer requirements with due regard regulations
Provision of general layout, assembly drawings, and detail drawings as necessary
Process Engineering changes
Produce bills of materials as required.
Visit customers as required to measure-up, design, and verify first fits.

Design Engineer Job Requirements

Technical qualification i.e, HNC/HND or equivalent
3D CAD experience, preferably Solidworks
Ideally knowledge of Machine Tools industry (Not essential)
Ideally knowledge of CE/UKCA Regulations (Not essential)

Design Engineer Salary & Benefits

Salary likely circa £28k for a junior level candidate and £33k-£36k for an experienced candidate
Working hours: 40hrs, 08:00-16:30 office based
Holiday allowance: 32days p/a inc stats
Pension: 5% EE, 3% ER
Annual bonus scheme, Life insurance, Free onsite parking, Cycle to work scheme
