Our client, a leader in the water sector, is currently seeking experienced Wastewater Design Engineers to join their growing team in Leeds or Preston on a contract basis. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, sustainable, and innovative wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure designs for major water companies as part of the AMP8 framework.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and contribute to the design of wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and sewerage networks
Develop concept, outline, and detailed designs in compliance with client specifications and industry standards
Conduct hydraulic modelling, process engineering assessments, and feasibility studies
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers
Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure designs meet project requirements
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and graduates
Ensure designs comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Support the preparation of project proposals, reports, and documentation

Job Requirements:

Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
Chartered or working towards Chartership with ICE, CIWEM, or IStructE (desirable)
Experience in wastewater design within a consultancy or contractor environment
Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, MicroDrainage, InfoWorks ICM, or similar
Strong knowledge of UK water industry standards, including Sewers for Adoption and relevant British Standards
Experience in hydraulic modelling and process engineering principles
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines
