Commissioning Manager - Water (AMP 8)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join our team, leading commissioning activities for water and wastewater infrastructure projects under AMP 8. The role involves managing the commissioning process, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering operationally ready assets.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the commissioning of water/wastewater treatment plants and associated infrastructure.
Develop and implement commissioning strategies, plans, and schedules.
Oversee commissioning activities from pre-commissioning through to handover.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Work closely with design, construction, and operations teams to optimize system performance.
Conduct functional and performance testing, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
Provide technical expertise in process commissioning and operational readiness.
Liaise with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
Manage risks and implement mitigation strategies during commissioning.
Train and support operational teams in system operation and maintenance.

Requirements:

Proven experience in commissioning water/wastewater treatment projects.
Strong knowledge of AMP frameworks and UK water industry standards.
Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
Experience working with Tier 1 contractors or water utility companies.
Ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of ICA (Instrumentation, Control & Automation) and process systems is desirable.
CSCS, SMSTS, or equivalent safety certification is advantageous.
