Process Engineer

Location: Andover
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000  
Hours: Monday – Friday (40 hours per week)
Benefits: 28 days annual leave + Pension + parking

Syntech Recruitment are representing a market-leading Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) company as they continue to scale innovation across their Power Electronics division. With three modern manufacturing sites and a track record of supporting mission-critical technologies, this is an opportunity to lead from the front.

We're now seeking a Process Engineer with strong leadership, process development, and problem-solving capabilities to own and evolve advanced processes for microelectronic and power electronics production.

Process Engineer Responsibilities:

Own the process development lifecycle, working alongside product development teams to integrate DfM and PFMEA principles.
Lead and develop a small team of Process Engineers — assigning tasks, balancing workloads, and fostering technical growth.
Design and manage process trials (DoE) with traceable results and evidence of process capability.
Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) — promoting best practices across production teams.
Drive quality and productivity improvements using lean techniques, 8D root cause analysis, and problem-solving methods.
Support the selection, design and implementation of fixtures, tooling, and test equipment.
Act as the technical lead for continuous improvement and efficiency across the Power Electronics process stream.
Support internal training and mentoring to build long-term team capability.
Process Engineer Experience:

A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (2:1 or above preferred).

Demonstrable experience in process engineering within a high-tech manufacturing environment.

Experience managing or mentoring small engineering teams.

Familiarity with 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.) to design jigs and fixtures.

Strong knowledge of manufacturing process selection, tolerancing, and DfM principles.

Excellent problem-solving ability and experience applying structured methodologies (PFMEA, DoE, 8D, etc.).

Exposure to quality systems such as ISO9001, IATF16949 (IPC knowledge beneficial).

Confident communicator, able to liaise with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
