Mechanical Process Engineer

The Role

As a Mechanical Process Engineer you will be responsible for the mechanical maintenance of all machines, ensuring efficient operations of cycle, weight, and quality of products. You will optimise mechanical processes and systems to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness across manufacturing operations.

Main Responsibilities

• Maintenance and rectification of engineering faults to maximise availability of machines and keep them in good working condition

• Analyse existing mechanical processes and identify areas for improvement, looking to optimise throughput and reduce waste

• Develop automation programmes, implement new automated products, and carry out routine maintenance of robots, tool attachments, and systems

• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to integrate new processes and technologies into production systems

• Assist the tool change fitters with achieving tool change target times, and ensuring all tools and ancillary equipment are ready for operation

• Set up machines when tool changes are complete

Mechanical Process Engineer

The Candidate

• HNC Qualified with a minimum of 3 years post-apprenticeship experience

• Excellent fault-finding skills

• Ability to multi-task and prioritise based on operational needs

• Experience in a manufacturing environment (ideally with plastic processing knowledge)

• Experience of automation technologies would be beneficial
