Imperial Recruitment Group are working with a key client who are looking to recruit a Process Engineer on a temporary ongoing basis.

Main Purpose:

This is a key appointment to support a major business transformation, playing a critical role in the transition to a new ERP and MES system. The Process Engineer will work closely with the wider engineering and operations teams to ensure manufacturing processes, data, and documentation are accurately defined, transferred, and optimised.

Alongside system implementation, the role will also focus on process improvement, standardisation, and supporting ongoing production and NPI activities.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a key link between Engineering, Production, Quality, Planning, and IT to support process alignment and system integration.

• Support the delivery of engineering changes and ensure actions are completed within agreed timelines.

• Provide process support across manufacturing areas, ensuring consistency and best practice.

ERP & MES Implementation

• Play a central role in preparing and transferring manufacturing data (BOMs, routings, SOPs) into new ERP and MES platforms.

• Review and validate existing data to ensure it reflects current manufacturing processes.

• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and improvements as part of the migration process.

• Support system testing, trial runs, and troubleshooting to ensure successful implementation.

• Assist in developing user guidance and training materials where required.

Process & SOP Management

• Lead the development, review, and control of SOPs across manufacturing processes.

• Ensure all production activities are clearly documented, standardised, and accessible.

• Promote a culture of compliance and continuous improvement through effective training and communication.

Change Management

• Ensure all process changes are formally captured through Management of Change procedures.

• Coordinate stakeholder input and approvals to maintain robust process control.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Support root cause investigations and problem-solving activities using structured methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, FMEA, etc.).

• Work with Quality teams to resolve process-related issues and reduce recurring defects.

• Drive improvements in efficiency, waste reduction, and overall process performance.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

• Support the introduction of new products by ensuring accurate system setup and process readiness.

• Assist with capturing and reporting production data and performance metrics.

Health & Safety

• Ensure all processes and documentation comply with Health, Safety and Environmental standards.

• Embed safety requirements into all SOPs and manufacturing practices.

Requirements

• 3–5 years’ experience in a manufacturing/process engineering role.

• Experience working with ERP/MES systems and managing manufacturing data.

• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.

• Knowledge of quality and problem-solving tools (FMEA, 8D, SPC, etc.).

• Experience within ISO-regulated environments.

• Degree, HND or HNC in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience).

• Six Sigma Green Belt (desirable).

• Exposure to automation or Industry 4.0 technologies is advantageous.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally.

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage workload independently.

Where to Advertise Semiconductor Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise semiconductor jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, academic channels and community routes that actually reach IC, fab and EDA talent. The candidate pool is one of the smallest and most specialised in any engineering discipline — spanning IC design engineers, process engineers, fab technicians, EDA tool developers, compound semiconductor physicists and power electronics specialists. General job boards are largely ineffective for semiconductor hiring. The community is tight-knit, highly academic in its roots and concentrated around a small number of university groups, fab facilities and design centres. Specialist boards, academic channels and direct community engagement are the primary sourcing strategies that work. This guide, published by SemiconductorJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise semiconductor roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
