Our Water company client are seeking Technical Assurance Engineers to be based in hybrid/remote arrangements with occasional office attendance in Chelmsford or Pity Me, Durham.

Our client are looking for a Technical Assurance Engineer (TAE) with water process/civil design experience to join their Engineering team within the Assets Directorate, reporting to the Technical Assurance Lead.

Responsibilities

You will work as part of a team of TAEs with extensive technical and design experience, accountable for the development and assurance of efficient, innovative engineering solutions, driving value in the early lifecycle stages of a project.
This will include supporting and challenging the solutions of Strategic Technical Partners and wider supply partners, ensuring delivery of safe, reliable assets that provide reliable and affordable water and wastewater services for customers.
If you have experience undertaking design assurance and chairing technical reviews on behalf of water industry clients, or are a Principal or Associate Water Civil/ Process Engineer acting as a Lead Design Engineer or discipline lead at a design consultancy we'd love to hear from you.
In support of our position as a Capable Owner, you will champion the Engineering Team as a technical authority, providing technical challenge, particularly in the early lifecycle stages, in support of Service Planning to verify asset need, condition and performance and ensuring development of efficient, affordable Totex solutions that deliver the required benefits to the business at an appropriate risk.
You will evaluate the application of asset standards and support the continued development of design guidance in support of technical strategy teams.
Providing technical guidance and advice to key project stakeholders, you will give business choice, enabling the effective delivery of investment.
You will promote innovation, industry best practice, lessons learned and continuous improvement and support the ongoing development of Engineering Standards & specifications.
You will drive a proactive approach to risk and value deviations to ensure appropriate opportunities are realised.
You will develop strong stakeholder relationships and build engagement with other departments and supply chain, including Strategic / Tactical Planning, Maintenance, and Operations, providing leadership through the promotion of strong collaborative relationships with our Strategic Technical and delivery partners

Skills/experience/qualifications

Ideally chartered process/civil engineer with experience of designing / delivering complex water and waste-water projects, be able to demonstrate effective communications skills, and commitment to company values.
You will have experience chairing or presenting designs at client design reviews.
Technical specialist with technical design experience in one or more of the following: wastewater process/civil design, water process/civil design.
This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and effective communication skills to support the presentation of solutions / evaluation of risk, and to develop stakeholder support.
Full UK driving licence requiredBenefits

Salary up to 69k plus car allowance
Generous holiday entitlement starting at 28 days plus bank holidays and additional time off on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. There's also the option to buy or sell holidays.
37 hour working week
Remote/hybrid - occasional office attendance in Chelmsford or Durham required
