Provectus Recruitment are currently partnered with a well-funded start-up organisation in Cambridge, that are focusing on developing innovative technologies that solve world fuel & energy challenges.

In-line with the roadmap, we are now able to be seeking a Test Engineer to join the team.

This role will offer you autonomy, the opportunity to influence key decisions and tech development, as well as an opportunity to be involve in “first of its kind” tech.

Key Duties

  • Build and Maintain: Build test rigs, test equipment, maintain and repair for use. Ensure that deliverable equipment is at a build standard ready for testing

  • Test Planning & Execution: Develop, implement, and manage test plans, protocols, and procedures for hydrothermal equipment and systems.

  • Performance Testing: Conduct functional, performance, and reliability testing on mechanical, electrical, and process systems.

  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyse test data to assess system performance, identify issues, and support design improvements.

  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve equipment and system issues, conducting root cause analysis to implement corrective actions.

  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of test results, methodologies, and compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

  • Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback to design and engineering teams to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all testing activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including adherence to hazardous material handling protocols.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with design, process engineering, and production teams to align testing requirements with project goals.

    The Ideal candidate

    The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, a detail-orientated professional with the ability to work independently, who possesses excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to work under pressure to stringent deadlines to satisfy demands

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience.

  • You will be a Chartered Engineer or demonstrably working towards chartered status.

  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and gas systems knowledge, including maintenance and repair practices.

  • Understanding of control systems and instrumentation with knowledge of PLC-driven control systems

  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and quality assurance processes.

  • Proficiency in using testing tools, data acquisition systems, and analysis software.
