Murphy is recruiting for a Stakeholder Manager to work with Energy Team on the National Grid, HWUP Project.

We deliver Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) projects serving both regulated and private customers along with technical and engineering solutions within the conventional power and energy transition markets. A day in the life of a Murphy Stakeholder Manager:

Develop an approach to community liaison that directly supports the project, ensures the smooth delivery of project deliverables
Ensure that good working relationships are developed and maintained with all neighbours and interested parties by regular liaison with local authorities, and local residents’ groups etc.
List and maintain a database of all key stakeholders and interested parties.
Ensure all stakeholders are informed about the scheme on a planned and coordinated basis, especially on any activities that may affect the public.
Put in place an approach to arrange exhibitions, meetings and site visits, as well as produce newsletters, leaflets and signage in line with company branding and guidelines.
Establish and maintain a public helpline to respond to all queries and set up complaints process and tracking system
Work collaboratively with local schools by offering safety talks and help with construction related school projects, ensuring we leave a positive legacy and promote engineering.
Present to professional bodies and respond to vigorous questioning, being the public face of the project / company when required.
Keep the emergency services and HA informed about any temporary diversions that may affect them including updating the scheme website.
Through a risk-based approach, identify the main concerns of the public and ensure they are addressed through open dialogue and consult with the local communities to explain and promote the project plans, their benefits and implications together.
Minimise disruption during construction, allaying unwarranted fears about delays and provide accurate and timely information.
Positively promote the company and the project as needed.
Advise and support the project team on public liaison matters, participating in project meetings or arranging appropriate training as required.

Experience of working with bids, tenders & contracts in the construction/engineering industry  
Proven track record of building relationships with external and internal stakeholders
Experience working in a similar Stakeholder Manager role with clear skills gained from delivering community or stakeholder engagement plans
Good organisation and project management skills, with demonstrable evidence of effectively managing multiple projects, developing communication plans and delivering them
Ability to proactively build effective relationships based on a collaborative and open approach with a range of stakeholders is essential.
