Job Title: Quality Inspector
Location: Coventry, CV3

Workchain is currently seeking an experienced Quality Inspector for our clients nationally recognised manufacturing operation, based in Coventry, CV3.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, this position's primary responsibility is to guarantee the

customer expected quality of all produced parts and products.

The ideal candidate will be part of a dedicated Quality Inspection team that is responsible for ensuring that quality process controls are in place and that all client expectations are met and that client relationships are controlled.

The role will be working Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am to 11.30am.

This role is a permanent position.

Key responsibilities:

  • First off inspection and in process inspection

  • Running CMM programs

  • Keeping all the quality areas in order and clean according to 5S method

  • Control of non-conforming product, ensuring that parts are correctly entered into casting

  • and setting registers and reporting details to management.

  • Support the Quality Manager on automotive quality tools and best practices application

  • Identify and recommend potential improvements of the quality system

  • Carryout Feasibility Study on new or modified drawings.

  • Supplier performance monitoring and checking of all quality related subcontract deliveries

  • Maintaining control plans

  • Monitoring customer satisfaction, internal performance and supplier performance producing data and reporting on performance

    Qualifications, requirements and experience:

  • Interpretation of mechanical drawings

  • Ability to select and use basic measuring equipment, micrometres, callipers and protractors

  • Ability to interpret and understand specific customer quality standards and requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of IS0:9001

  • Calibration of measuring equipment and gauges

  • Process management software

    Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am to 11.30am, overtime may be available during busy periods.

    The starting salary is from £38kpa depending on experience with excellent company benefits.

    Previous experience of working in an automotive, manufacturing or process engineering company in a quality inspection or quality control environment is essential.
