Job Title: Quality Engineer – Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering
Location: Croydon, South London
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum (DOE)
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time | On-site

Opportunity to Join a Leading Manufacturing Business in Croydon

Our client, a well-established and growing UK manufacturing company, is looking to hire a Quality Engineer to join their team at their site in Croydon. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with a background in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or similar, who is interested in quality assurance and continuous improvement.

The company operates a variety of manufacturing processes on-site, providing broad exposure to different technologies and production methods.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and improving the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), driving root cause analysis, and working cross-functionally to ensure product and process quality standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:



Support the maintenance and development of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS)

*

Lead and assist with root cause analysis to resolve quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

*

Conduct and support internal audits and contribute to audit readiness

*

Monitor and improve production and inspection processes to ensure product quality

*

Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams on quality and process improvement initiatives

*

Assist with quality documentation including FMEA, control plans, and inspection reports

*

Track, manage, and close out non-conformance reports (NCRs)

Candidate Profile:

*

Degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field

*

Experience in a manufacturing or production environment

*

Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills

*

Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment

Desirable Experience (Nice to Have):

*

Familiarity with root cause analysis tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, or Fishbone diagrams

*

Experience with quality systems or continuous improvement initiatives

*

Exposure to lean manufacturing principles

*

Previous roles such as Quality Technician, Process Engineer, or Quality Inspector
