NPI Tooling Engineer – Technical Manager Designate

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager/Engineer on behalf of our client, a leading engineering solutions provider in Leicestershire.

Our client delivers full turnkey solutions for major process-related projects predominantly across the UK and Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to take on a diverse role encompassing project management, technical design, and client liaison responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Client Relations You will interpret customer requirements and work closely with senior management to create comprehensive quotations and tenders. Your role will involve overseeing the complete project lifecycle from planning through to implementation and execution, including the production of detailed project plans.

Technical Design & Documentation The position requires conducting site surveys, taking precise measurements, and gathering essential information to produce technical drawings. You will establish equipment locations, determine optimal routes for interconnections, and produce General Arrangement and Detail drawings throughout all project phases. Additionally, you will create feasibility study documents, validation documentation, and user manuals while ensuring all design work complies with current health and safety legislation.

Commercial & Procurement Oversight You will be responsible for controlling contract and project costs within established budgets. This includes specifying subcontract work, liaising with and supervising subcontracted site activities, and detailing component specifications to facilitate purchase order processes.

Client Support & Project Delivery Regular site visits will be required to provide technical support to customers, ensuring all contracts and projects meet client requirements and expectations. You will also collate information to assist in producing installation manuals for clients.

Essential Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and AutoCAD

  • Strong project management capabilities

  • Technical drawing and design experience

  • Excellent communication skills for client liaison

  • Understanding of health and safety legislation

  • Commercial awareness and budget management skills
