Overview:
Our client is an innovative small business specialising in capturing waste heat from manufacturing processes to harness into energy saving across other processes. They are continuing to grow and are now looking for a Controls & Instrumentation engineer with a strong background in PLC ladder logic and fault finding to join their team. This role would suit someone based in the north of England but is largely remotely based.

Key Responsibilities:

Working alongside the Chemical Process Engineer and Director to provide technical support and expertise during the design, pre-wiring, testing and commissioning stage of process energy projects.
Work on projects usually involving inverter/frequency control of fans, pump control, actuation of valves and dampers, the measurement of pressures, flow and temperature.
Develop initial design of control systems, electrical panels, PLC and HMIs ensuring compliance with safety regulations in order for subcontract suppliers to tender and build relevant systems.
Ensure the correct installation of the electrical control system.
Work with the Chemical Process Engineer to fully function test and commission systems to handover to customer.
Document the control system including electrical schematics, panel layout drawings and cable schedules.
Person Specification:

Qualified to a minimum HNC level in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Previous experience in electrical design or automation / software design.
Previous experience using electrical system design software.
Knowledge of the design and specification of control systems / electrical control panels within OEM businesses.
Working knowledge of PLC and HMI design software and the configuration of variable speed drives.
Well developed knowledge of PLC ladder logic allied to an ability to fault find and diagnose. Processing Your Data
