RF IC Design Engineer – Chelmsford, Essex | Hybrid (3 days onsite)

A leading technology innovator in the semiconductor space is looking for a RF IC Design Engineer to join their growing New Product Engineering team in Chelmsford, Essex. This is a hands-on design role working on advanced RF/analogue ICs for sub-6GHz communication applications.

The successful candidate will be based at the company’s UK HQ in Chelmsford, Essex, with hybrid working (3 days onsite). You will take ownership of RF/Analogue circuit blocks – from initial design and simulation to verification and silicon evaluation – as part of a collaborative engineering team.

As an RF IC Design Engineer, you will:

• Design and simulate key circuit blocks such as LNAs, Mixers, Filters, PLLs, Bandgaps, and Bias circuits.
  
  
• Work on designs using both SiGe and CMOS technologies.
  
  
• Produce detailed documentation for each design block.
  
  
• Collaborate with test and layout engineers across multiple sites.
  
  
• Support chip evaluation and lab characterisation efforts.
  
  
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a strong team culture.
  
  We’re looking for a motivated RF IC Design Engineer with:
  
  
• Strong experience of hands-on IC design experience.
  
  
• A Master’s or PhD in Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  
  
• Strong understanding of analogue and RF design principles including mismatch, linearity, noise, and stability.
  
  
• Experience using Cadence Virtuoso and version control systems.
  
  
• Familiarity with EM tools, ESD protection design, and layout collaboration.
  
  
• Practical knowledge of IC design for manufacture and test.
