Production Engineer
Location: Hailsham, East Sussex
Full-Time Permanent and Contract
A fantastic opportunity for a degree educated Mechanical Engineer is on offer in the East Sussex area for a talented Production Engineer. With at least five years’ experience as a Product Engineer and an interest in science, this role offers career progression opportunities with our innovative company.
Primary Objectives
The main purpose of this role will be:

  • Assist in the NPI process and to help oversee our manufacturing processes
  • Carry out root cause analysis and maintain the 8D/RMA system
  • Ensure best practice and health and safety codes are followed
  • Identify problems in the production line, troubleshooting manufacturing issues and completing various administrative tasks
    The main requirements as our Production Engineer accountabilities are:
  • Leading and carrying out 8D/RMA activities while maintaining the 8D/RMA process within Engineering
  • Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities
  • Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards
  • Monitoring the manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner
  • Diagnosing problems in the production line, providing recommendations and training to eliminate any issues
  • Liaising with other engineers to develop plans that improve production, costs, and labour content
  • Establishing safety procedures and protocols that take the workers' well-being into account, and that also minimise the carbon footprint
  • Keeping abreast of advancements in engineering and production, then sharing knowledge with co-workers
  • Identifying, documenting, and reporting unsafe practices
  • Checking drawings, routes & new BOM items for completeness and production readiness
  • Creating drawings, routes & new BOM items for completeness and production readiness
  • Scheduling meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders.
  • Analysing all facets of production and making recommendations for improvement
  • Identifying and obtaining any materials and equipment required for the above
    Essential Skills & Experience need for Production Engineer

  • Experience with CAD software
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Proven experience in the engineering field
