Process Engineer
πŸ“ Location: Oldham
πŸ’Ό Full-Time | Permanent | Competitive Salary + Benefits

I’m currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established client within the semiconductor manufacturing industry, who is looking to bring a Process Engineer into their growing engineering team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer with a background in silicon wafer fabrication or similar cleanroom-based manufacturing, looking to work on innovative technologies in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for sustaining and improving process performance, driving quality, and supporting the transfer of new technologies into production.

πŸ” Key Responsibilities for the Process Engineer job:

  • Develop, sustain, and optimise wafer fabrication processes

  • Improve process capability, yield, and quality using techniques like SPC, DOE, and 6 Sigma

  • Create and maintain documentation and manufacturing procedures

  • Support NPI and the transition of new processes into high-volume production

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver continuous improvement

  • Provide technical input on metrology tools, equipment upgrades, and fault diagnostics

βœ… Skill & Experience required for the Process Engineer job:

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering or a relevant Science discipline

  • Previous experience as a Process Engineer or Technician within semiconductor or precision manufacturing

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on mindset

  • Proficient in Excel/data analysis and comfortable working with technical documentation

  • Able to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team

This is a key position within a forward-thinking engineering environment, where innovation and precision meet. If you’re passionate about process excellence and thrive in a cleanroom/manufacturing setting β€” I’d love to hear from you.

Where to Advertise Semiconductor Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise semiconductor jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, academic channels and community routes that actually reach IC, fab and EDA talent. The candidate pool is one of the smallest and most specialised in any engineering discipline β€” spanning IC design engineers, process engineers, fab technicians, EDA tool developers, compound semiconductor physicists and power electronics specialists. General job boards are largely ineffective for semiconductor hiring. The community is tight-knit, highly academic in its roots and concentrated around a small number of university groups, fab facilities and design centres. Specialist boards, academic channels and direct community engagement are the primary sourcing strategies that work. This guide, published by SemiconductorJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise semiconductor roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
