Shape the Future of Water Treatment with Anglian Water

Do you have expertise in water or wastewater process engineering and a passion for delivering sustainable solutions? Are you motivated by the challenge of designing safe, efficient, and innovative treatment systems that directly benefit customers and the environment?

This is your opportunity to join Anglian Water as a Process Engineer, where you'll play a vital role in designing, modelling, and optimising treatment processes for clean water or waste water projects across our region.

We're looking for a technically skilled, detail-driven engineer with strong problem-solving ability and the confidence to apply process safety principles in every design. You'll bring creativity and rigour to ensure our projects meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and sustainability.

At Anglian Water, we're Always Exploring - innovating for a resilient water future. By Doing the Right Thing, we commit to transparency, fairness, and professional growth. And by Building Trust, we place collaboration, safety, and wellbeing at the core of everything we do.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Process Engineer, you'll support projects from feasibility and design through to delivery, ensuring every solution balances technical excellence, cost, and long-term value.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing water or wastewater treatment processes and sewerage/water systems in line with Anglian Water's goals and standards
  • Undertaking process calculations, including hydraulics, unit processes, capacity assessments, and pump design
  • Producing technical deliverables such as data sheets and process documentation
  • Analysing and assessing third-party equipment through technical bid reviews
  • Applying process safety principles, including LOPA and DSEAR, in all designs
  • Collaborating with design teams to develop integrated 3D models and solutions
  • Ensuring compliance with POSWSH and POSWASTE requirements
  • Preparing technical documents that meet agreed standards, specifications, and timescales
  • Supporting health and safety excellence by producing safe, compliant designs in line with CDM regulations
  • Providing technical guidance during project delivery and escalating issues that may affect time, cost, or quality

About You

You're a proactive and collaborative engineer with a strong technical background and a commitment to continuous improvement. You thrive on problem solving, enjoy working across disciplines, and bring a focus on delivering safe, sustainable outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A degree in water/wastewater process science, engineering, or a related subject
  • Demonstrable experience in process engineering for clean water or waste water treatment projects
  • Strong knowledge of treatment process design, modelling, and optimisation
  • Experience with biosolids treatment would be advantageous
  • Proven ability to apply process safety principles, including LOPA and DSEAR, in design
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively across teams and stakeholders
  • Good IT skills and ability to use modelling tools where required
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an eye for detail

It would also be beneficial to have:

  • A relevant postgraduate qualification (such as MSc or CIWEM membership)
  • Membership of a professional engineering body

  • Private Health Insurance
  • 26 days holiday plus bank holidays (with flexibility for religious holidays and option to purchase more)
  • Pension Scheme - double matching your contributions up to 6%
  • Bonus scheme
  • Lifestyle benefits including car, dental insurance, and gym discounts via salary sacrifice
  • Life cover - 8 x annual salary

Where to Advertise Semiconductor Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise semiconductor jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, academic channels and community routes that actually reach IC, fab and EDA talent. The candidate pool is one of the smallest and most specialised in any engineering discipline — spanning IC design engineers, process engineers, fab technicians, EDA tool developers, compound semiconductor physicists and power electronics specialists. General job boards are largely ineffective for semiconductor hiring. The community is tight-knit, highly academic in its roots and concentrated around a small number of university groups, fab facilities and design centres. Specialist boards, academic channels and direct community engagement are the primary sourcing strategies that work. This guide, published by SemiconductorJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise semiconductor roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
