What your day will look like:

•    Every day running of direct labour, earth works, muck shift and general construction.
•    Manage on-site resources including plant, machinery, and materials, to optimise productivity and project efficiency.
•    Oversee excavation, filling, and compaction operations, applying best practices and maintaining compliance with environmental and safety standards.
•    Supervise a team of groundworkers and machine operatives, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution of earthworks activities.
•    Coordinate effectively with subcontractors and internal teams to maintain workflow and meet project timelines.
•    Uphold and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all work meets the highest safety standards and regulatory requirements.
•    Ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety Requirements.
•    Site briefings, risk assessments.
•    Manage subcontractors and suppliers.
•    Ordering of materials and plant equipment.
•    Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices project requirements.
•    Collaborate with project managers, clients, and stakeholders.
•    Manage subcontractors and suppliers.
•    Maintain Murphy project quality controls to help us always deliver.
•    Delivery of works within programme and to budget.
•    Maintain rigorous quality control and deliver work to the highest specification, ensuring project success from start to finish.

What we need from you:

•    Experience on large earthworks projects 
•    Strong technical knowledge of earthworks processes, soil behaviour, and construction materials.
•    SSSTS / SMSTS Card holder  
•    Strong communicator
•    Strong collaborator with the ability to build solid working relationships across the team.
•    Flexibility to travel and stay away from home.
•    Proficiency in relevant engineering software and Microsoft suites, in particular Microsoft Excel
•    Full UK driving licence
