The Role A leading design and build business in the water sector is seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join its dynamic team. This role focuses on overseeing the process design of water and wastewater treatment projects—from initial feasibility through to detailed design, construction, and commissioning. The successful candidate will contribute to projects that make a significant impact on communities and the environment, while developing both technical and management skills in an environment that fosters long-term career growth.

Responsibilities
Design Leadership: Drive the creation of process design deliverables, including process models, mass balances, and control philosophies.
Technical Assurance: Provide expert review and validation of process designs carried out by others, ensuring all work complies with framework standards and industry best practices.
Innovation & Sustainability: Identify and promote opportunities for innovation, with a focus on whole-life cost management and achieving net-zero targets.
Collaboration: Work closely with commercial, operational, and construction teams to develop practical, efficient, and safe solutions throughout all project stages.
Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a key point of contact to support them in achieving their project objectives.
Team Development: Mentor and support the process engineering team, helping to build skills and ensuring the right resources are allocated to projects.
Project Support: Oversee the integration of process design inputs into commissioning plans and provide support during the construction phase. Requirements
Educational Background: A degree in Chemical or Process Engineering, or a related field. Experience in the water sector.
Professional Accreditation: Chartered or incorporated member of a professional institution (e.g., ICE, IMechE) or equivalent experience.
Technical Proficiency: Proven experience in process design within the water sector, with strong skills in developing process models, mass balances, and control philosophies.
Communication: Excellent ability to communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
Problem Solving: A methodical approach to addressing technical challenges and risk assessments.
Mobility: A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
