Job Specification: Dimensional Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Derby, Precision Casting Facility (PCF)
Contract Duration: 12 months
Company Overview:
The Precision Casting Facility has recently undergone multimillion investment, securing its exciting future. The factory specializes in casting technologies, including Single Crystal, for High Pressure, Intermediate Pressure, and Low-Pressure turbine blades supplied to Civil, Defence, and Business Jet Customers.
Role Overview:
As a Dimensional Manufacturing Engineer, you will provide technical support to the dimensional inspection cell, ensuring that processes are standardized, error-proofed, in control, and Right First Time.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to the plant dimensional cell and proof department, covering processes such as Computer Tomography, CMM, Ultrasonic, Comparator Gauges, and Caliper Gauges.
  • Conduct Measurement System Analysis studies (Gauge R&R) to validate changes to the measurement system, introduce new components, fixtures, and software upgrades.
  • Lead improvement activities in the dimensional cell to aid cost savings, increase cell capacity, provide quicker data access, improve data integrity, and enhance functionality.
    Key Skills and Experience Required:
  • Degree or equivalent in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing engineering and/or process engineering.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proven record of technical problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean techniques.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • High computer literacy, excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Enthusiastic with a flexible attitude to work and a keen interest in learning.
  • Good team working skills.
  • Strong drawing interpretation skills, with previous experience in Measurement Systems or an interest in developing professionally in that area.
  • Measurement systems programming, NX or CAD experience is a bonus
