Our client, a manufactuer who buy in components and carry out final assembly activities to build a finished product, seeks to appoint a Manufacturing Engineer. The appointed Manufacturing Engineer will have completed an engineering focused qualification, understand BOMs and engineering drawings, have good knowledge of build processes, be passionate about reducing waste and streamlining production processes, and have a basic knowledge of lean and continuous improvement.

On offer is a role with a great working environment, support from above and below to achieve your objectives, and a company with a lot to do to keep you busy! There's more waste and inefficiency than they'd like and this role is about finding it and eliminating it. This opportunity would suit a multi-faceted engineer currently working as a Process Engineer, Production Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer looking for a step up in their career.

Manufacturing Engineer - Role and Responsibilities - Production Engineer / Waste / Process Engineer / Lean / Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement improvement projects to recude costs whilst increasing output
  • Review and make improvements to standard processes and operating procedures
  • Specific focus on spotting bottle necks in production lines, reducing process times, and eliminating scrap material / waste
  • Good understanding of lean and continuous improvement activities

    Manufacturing Engineer - Skills and Abilities - Production Engineer / Waste / Process Engineer / Lean / Continuous Improvement

  • Degree / HND qualified in engineering or equivalent
  • Background in a final assembly production environment
  • Competent all rounder with knowledge of quality, projects, and production / process engineering
  • Previous experience of process improvement methodologies and at least three years experience in a Manufacturing Engineer style role
  • Excellent lean and continuous improvement knowledge
