On behalf of Arup, AMS are seeking to receive expressions of interest from those who would like the opportunity to join our teams, promoting the growth of the Arup Water Business. With offices across the UK, you will join teams of professionals with diverse industry knowledge. These positions will be open in London, Cardiff, Bristol primarily and be 12-month contracts.

Our water team work in 90 countries, collaborating across over 50 related technical and advisory disciplines. This is how we're able to respond to such a wide range of water projects and programmes, from water treatment works in Australia, to physical engineering of the new intake tunnel under Lake Mead in Colorado. We use consultancy, engineering, and research to bring the most insightful approaches to water projects wherever they are in the world.

Arup helps the world manage its water, from the supply of clean drinking water to understanding flood risks, from drainage to sanitation. Across the UK, we have a team of multi-disciplinary water engineers working closely collectively on a wide variety of flood and coastal risk management, waste and clean water infrastructure and non-infrastructure asset.

Job description - the role

The Opportunities:

Our current key water industry clients include Welsh Water, Thames Water and Severn Trent Water and we are actively bidding for SROs and wider AMP8 opportunities across the UK. We also support flood and coastal risk management projects for Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales and Local Authorities. Arup has a key focus on people, excellence, influence, digital and sustainability and we look forward to your contribution.

Civil Engineers - Water / Wastewater / Flood Risk
Hydraulic Modellers
Dams & Reservoir Engineers
Flood & Costal Erosion Risk Management (FCERM)
Water Consultants & Specialists
Hydrologists / Water Scientists
Flood Risk Consultants
Flood Modellers
Design Engineers - Mechanical / Electrical
BIM
Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation (EICA)
Process Engineering
Sustainable Drainage / SuDS

We'd love to hear from you if you have any from the following:

A degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. civils engineering, geography) / Aspiration to work toward professional accreditation
Knowledge of projects in the UK water sector.
High competence with pressure pipeline hydraulics, experience of using GIS and 3D CAD packages
Worked with hydraulic modelling software (preferably Flood Modeller, ESTRY, and TUFLOW) as well as using GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
Digital/coding skills such as Python, FME, excel.
Abilities in delivering optioneering, appraisal and justification of FCERM projects and nature-based solutions as well as developing FCERM business cases.
