A leading organisation operating within a highly technical and advanced manufacturing environment is seeking an experienced Technical Facilities Manager to oversee the safe, compliant and efficient operation of a critical site in the Bristol area. Supporting specialist facilities including clean rooms, engineering laboratories, manufacturing spaces and associated infrastructure, the organisation is investing in growth and innovation, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact within a complex, fast-paced environment.

Your new role

As Technical Facilities Manager, you will take ownership of all building services and critical engineering infrastructure across the site. You will provide technical leadership for mechanical, electrical, controls and life safety systems, ensuring engineering integrity, operational resilience and statutory compliance.

Key responsibilities will include managing clean room environments, HVAC systems, electrical infrastructure, gas and water systems, leading planned and reactive maintenance programmes, overseeing outsourced service partners and developing an internal facilities team. You will also manage facilities budgets, support capital investment planning, drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure the site maintains the highest standards of health, safety and operational performance.Working closely with engineering, operations and safety teams, you will lead incident response activities, oversee contractor performance, manage technical risk and play a key role in supporting critical manufacturing and research activities.

This role is based on site: Mon-Fri, Mon to Thurs: 8-4.30/ Fri:8-1pm (Half day).

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will have proven experience in facilities management within a technical or highly regulated environment such as advanced manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, life sciences or research facilities.You will possess:

Strong knowledge of critical building services and infrastructure.

Experience managing clean rooms or other controlled environments.

A solid understanding of maintenance strategies, asset management and life cycle planning.

Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and engineering compliance requirements, including areas such as COSHH, DSEAR, PUWER, LOLER, PSSR and water hygiene compliance.

Experience managing contractors, suppliers and outsourced service providers.

A track record of leading and developing facilities or engineering teams.

Experience working with CAFM systems and maintenance management programmes.

Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.

Degree qualification in Engineering, Facilities Management or a related discipline would be advantageous.

Professional membership with an organisation such as IWFM or CIBSE would be desirable.What you'll get in return
