Fractile is building silicon, systems and software which will redefine the frontier of AI: running the world’s most advanced models at radically higher speed and lower cost. We have an exceptional team across hardware and software capable of bringing about this change, and we are growing fast to meet demand and deliver our product at scale.

As a fabless company, manufacturing excellence is achieved through deep technical collaboration and influence across external partners.

The Role

We are seeking a Staff Foundry Technical Manager to serve as Fractile’s technical representative at our Taiwan-based foundry partners.

This is a highly technical, hands-on individual contributor role focused on:

  • Yield ramp acceleration
  • Parametric performance tracking
  • Process integration alignment
  • Manufacturing risk mitigation

You will not “run a fab” — instead, you will drive outcomes through technical depth, data analysis, influence, and structured collaboration with foundry engineering teams.

This role requires someone who understands how to extract maximum performance and yield from an advanced-node process in a fabless operating model.

What You’ll Own

Foundry Technical Interface (Fabless Model)

  • Act as Fractile’s on-the-ground technical representative with the foundry.
  • Engage directly with foundry teams across process integration, yield, device, lithography, and reliability.
  • Translate foundry process data into actionable insights for internal design and product teams.
  • Drive issue resolution without direct manufacturing authority — through technical rigor and relationship strength.

Yield Ramp & Learning Acceleration

  • Lead yield analysis from first silicon through high-volume production.
  • Analyze inline, WAT, parametric, and defect density data.
  • Identify yield limiters and systemic process sensitivities.
  • Drive structured root cause analysis (RCA) with the foundry.
  • Shorten yield learning cycles and reduce ramp time.

Change & Risk Management

  • Evaluate process change notices (PCNs) and assess design impact.
  • Identify node-specific variability and reliability risks.
  • Support qualification, reliability stress analysis, and lifetime modeling.
  • Proactively flag systemic risks affecting cost-per-die or performance targets.

Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Collaborate closely with:
    • Physical Design & Implementation
    • DFT & Test Engineering
    • Product & Yield Engineering
    • OSAT & Packaging partners
  • Provide structured technical updates to leadership.
  • Help define manufacturing readiness and tape-out criteria for future programs.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years in semiconductor process integration, yield engineering, or foundry-facing roles.
  • Direct experience working with Taiwan-based foundries.
  • Advanced node experience (≤7nm strongly preferred).
  • Deep knowledge of:
    • CMOS process integration
    • Yield learning methodologies
    • Parametric analysis & variability
    • Defect density modeling
  • Experience supporting at least one advanced-node product from first silicon to volume ramp.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset.
  • Ability to influence without formal authority in a fabless model.
  • Fluent in English; Mandarin strongly preferred.

Ideal Candidate

You are:

  • Technically authoritative yet collaborative
  • Comfortable operating inside external partner ecosystems
  • Highly data-driven and structured in problem solving
  • Calm under yield excursion or ramp pressure
  • Motivated by building category-defining AI silicon in a startup environment

You understand that in a fabless company, success depends on:

  • Technical credibility
  • Precision in communication
  • Speed of analysis
  • Strong engineering relationships

Why This Role Is Critical at Fractile

As a fabless company building advanced AI silicon, Fractile’s success depends on how effectively we collaborate with and influence our manufacturing partners.

In this role, you directly impact:

  • Cost per die
  • Performance targets
  • Yield ramp speed
  • Production scalability
  • Long-term node strategy

This is a high-leverage technical leadership role at the centre of Fractile’s path to production scale.

About us

  • Founded in 2022, team of 70+, which is expanding rapidly
  • Modern, open offices in London and Bristol
  • Collaborative, problem-solving culture built on deep curiosity, entrepreneurial initiative and technical fluency

Export control and security clearance

Certain roles may involve working on technologies subject to export restrictions. Applicants may be required to undergo additional eligibility checks to ensure compliance with applicable law.

Where to Advertise Semiconductor Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Advertising semiconductor jobs in the UK requires a fundamentally different approach to most technical hiring. The candidate pool is one of the smallest and most specialised in any engineering discipline — spanning IC design engineers, process engineers, fab technicians, EDA tool developers, compound semiconductor physicists and power electronics specialists. General job boards are largely ineffective for semiconductor hiring. The community is tight-knit, highly academic in its roots and concentrated around a small number of university groups, fab facilities and design centres. Specialist boards, academic channels and direct community engagement are the primary sourcing strategies that work. This guide, published by SemiconductorJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise semiconductor roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

New Semiconductor Employers to Watch in 2026: UK and International Companies Transforming Chip Careers

The semiconductor industry is entering a new era of investment, geopolitical significance, and technological innovation. As advanced chips power everything from artificial intelligence and edge computing to autonomous vehicles and 5G infrastructure, demand for skilled professionals across design, verification, fabrication, and test engineering continues to rise. For professionals exploring opportunities on www.SemiconductorJobs.co.uk , understanding which employers are scaling, raising funds, winning contracts, or establishing UK operations is critical. This article highlights the new semiconductor employers to watch in 2026, including UK innovators, major international players expanding locally, and emerging firms driving next‑generation semiconductor technologies.

How Many Semiconductor Tools Do You Need to Know to Get a Semiconductor Job?

If you’re pursuing a career in the semiconductor industry, it can feel like you’re expected to master an endless list of tools, software packages and lab equipment before you even submit a CV. One job advert wants experience with TCAD and process simulation, another mentions SPICE and yield tools, while yet another asks for test automation platforms, yield analysis software, hardware description languages, EDA suites and hundreds of others. With so many technical names thrown around, it’s easy to fall into “tool anxiety” — the feeling that you’re behind because you don’t know every piece of software, every lab instrument and every process control suite. Here’s the honest truth most semiconductor hiring managers won’t say out loud: 👉 They don’t hire you because you know every tool — they hire you because you can use the right tools to solve real engineering problems and explain your reasoning clearly. Tools matter, absolutely. But they exist to help you deliver measurable results — not to be collected like badges. So how many semiconductor tools do you actually need to know to get a job? The answer is a lot fewer than you might think — and far more focused on core capabilities than a long checklist. This guide breaks down what employers really value, which tools are essential, which are role-specific, and how to focus your learning so you are confident and credible.
