Role: Senior Process Engineer (Contract – Outside IR35)

Location: Harlow

Contract: 12 months

Start Date: Spring 2026

Workscope

Addison Project Plc invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified independent (PSC) contractors to provide Senior Process Engineering Services. The services will be delivered from our Harlow office and will also require site presence for our project in Greater London.

Scope of Services

* Producing process calculations, datasheets and equipment specification sheets

* Developing PFDs and P&IDs

* Producing alarm/trip schedules and cause & effect diagrams

* Generating process reports and control philosophies

* Supporting plant troubleshooting activities

* Producing equipment, piping, valve, inline item and instrument schedules

* Checking and approving technical documents

* Liaising with vendors and reviewing vendor information

* Participating in HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA reviews

* Completing Hazardous Area Classification and DSEAR assessments

Experience & Qualifications

* Chemical Engineering degree (essential)

* Chartered Engineer status (desirable)

* Strong experience within a UK onshore process engineering design team within either a petrochemical, chemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical or food and beverage industry

* Proven knowledge and experience of HAZOP, DSEAR and ATEX in a COMAH environment. Including carrying out Hazardous Area Classification Assessments

* The ability to lead HAZOP Studies (desirable)

* Ability to work to a high level of autonomy and to produce high quality results

* Passion for delivering safe, fit for purpose, accurate design, completed to cost and programme.

* Ability to be adaptable and to drive progress to meet targets.

* Thorough approach with attention to detail and the ability to recognise and minimise risks

* Ability to work in a multi-discipline team

* Willing to lead a project with a small team; supporting less experienced engineers

* Willing to work in the Engineering design office in Harlow and attend site as necessary in Greater London.
