The successful candidate will play a key part in shaping innovative communication solutions, working on complex modelling, optimisation, and hardware integration. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge satellite communication technologies within a pioneering and internationally respected organisation.

Responsibilities:

Lead the design, development, and validation of advanced DSP algorithms for satellite communication systems, with a focus on modulation, coding, and synchronization.

Optimise algorithms for enhanced performance, energy efficiency, and alignment with hardware constraints.

Implement theoretical systems into high-performance software in C++ and/or FPGA environments, ensuring robustness and scalability.

Collaborate closely across interdisciplinary teams, including systems, RF, hardware, and software engineers, to deliver comprehensive solutions.

Participate in innovation projects, including prototyping and evaluating new communication technologies.

Contribute to all stages of product development from conceptual modelling, simulation, to real-world validation.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Master's degree or higher in signals processing, communications engineering, or a related field.

Proven expertise in DSP theory, including channel coding (LDPC, turbo codes), digital modulation/demodulation, synchronization, and channel estimation.

Strong experience in modelling and simulation using MATLAB, Python, or similar tools.

Practical implementation experience in high-performance C++ development (e.g., SIMD) or FPGA design (RTL VHDL/Verilog, HLS tools).

Sound understanding of multi-rate systems and detection/estimation theories.

Demonstrable ability to link theoretical concepts with practical hardware solutions.

Excellent problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Effective communicator capable of liaising across technical disciplines.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

Knowledge of relevant PHY standards such as CCSDS, DVB-S2X, DVB-RCS2, or 5G NR.

Hands-on experience with RF and optical satellite communication systems, including link budgets and interference management.

Familiarity with ML/AI applications within the field of PHY layers.

Contributions to open-source projects, patents, or scientific publications.

Call to Action:

If you're an innovative, driven engineer with the expertise to influence the future of satellite communication technology, we invite you to submit your CV for consideration. This is your chance to join a pioneering team working on high-impact projects in an inspiring environment. We look forward to learning how your skills and ambitions align with this exciting opportunity
