Project Commissioning Engineer
Full-time | Competitive salary and bonus

We're looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer Fixed Term Contract 12 months to support the setup and handover of a brand-new facility for high-hazard manufacturing. This is a hands-on role within a tight-knit engineering team, focused on preparing, commissioning, and supporting the safe operation of a unique, safety-critical process.

You'll be involved from pre-commissioning right through to live trials, working closely with process engineers, operators, external specialists, and safety teams. Key tasks include developing commissioning plans, operating procedures, and risk assessments, followed by leading commissioning activities, both inert and live. It's a role that will suit someone who's thorough, safety-focused, and comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and disciplines.

What you'll need

Background in manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering
Experience in commissioning new plant, equipment, or process systems
Solid understanding of HSE principles and risk management
Skilled in root cause analysis, engineering documentation, and process improvement
Degree or equivalent in an engineering or technical subject
NEBOSH knowledge would be a bonus

What's on offer

Competitive salary and bonus at contract end
Pension, healthcare and employee discounts
Flexible working arrangements - can be discussed
The chance to work on something genuinely different in a specialist environment

If you enjoy project-based work and want to be part of a facility launch with real impact, we'd like to hear from you

Where to Advertise Semiconductor Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise semiconductor jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, academic channels and community routes that actually reach IC, fab and EDA talent. The candidate pool is one of the smallest and most specialised in any engineering discipline — spanning IC design engineers, process engineers, fab technicians, EDA tool developers, compound semiconductor physicists and power electronics specialists. General job boards are largely ineffective for semiconductor hiring. The community is tight-knit, highly academic in its roots and concentrated around a small number of university groups, fab facilities and design centres. Specialist boards, academic channels and direct community engagement are the primary sourcing strategies that work. This guide, published by SemiconductorJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise semiconductor roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
