Process (Improvement) Engineer

We represent a highly reputable and professional multinational manufacturing organisation with a truly global presence, an excellent operational efficiency and on time delivery record, and superb opportunities for achievement, recognition and career progression.

Through business growth, an opportunity has arisen to join the business as a Process Engineer, providing engineering support and technical leadership to production, problem solving on both machine and process problems, and working closely with other engineering functions and change professionals and external suppliers to optimise and improve performance. This role will sit alongside ‘day to day’ production support in a project based, proactive improvement capacity.

Key skills

  • Ideally educated to degree level in engineering or equivalent experience

  • Some post grad experience as a production engineer, manufacturing engineer, maintenance engineer or continuous improvement engineer ideally in a process manufacturing environment (paper, tissue, fabric, foil, film, coating, plating, lamination, plastic, casting, steel, batch chemical all relevant).

  • Experienced in machine-based manufacturing processes, accustomed to diagnosing machine and process based issues, happy to work closely with maintenance to resolve equipment based problems

  • Knowledge of Lean tools – OEE, SMED is desirable

  • IT and data literate and able to use engineering software to gather and analyse data (OEE, SPC)

  • Sound problem solving skills, root cause analysis, Pareto analysis techniques

  • Able to effectively and successfully engage with internal stakeholders and external suppliers as required

  • Great prioritisation skills, methodical, logical and well organised, able to adapt to changing circumstances, and really thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Collaborative team player who enjoys working with others in a supportive and close-knit team

We don’t need masses of experience for this appointment. It might also suit a maintenance biased engineer seeking a move onto days in a more project centric role.

Join this fast growing employer in a proactive, improvements biased engineering role in a technically challenging setting, on an excellent package to include an attractive bonus of 8%, generous pension and healthcare benefits, and excellent opportunities for learning and progression on a stable site with a low staff turnover

This is a days based role, Mon – Fri, on site in Wrexham
