Contract Process Engineer - Food & Beverage (Brewery)
Location: Birmingham
Duration: 3 Months Initially (Likely Extension to 6 Months)
Rate: Outside IR35 - Competitive (Dependent on Experience)

Overview:
My client is a Brewery in the Birmingham area who are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to assist with ongoing production and process improvement projects. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with a strong background in food, beverage, or brewery environments to contribute to a fast-paced manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities:

Support ongoing process improvement, optimisation, and upgrade activities across production lines.

Work closely with production, maintenance, and project teams to enhance process performance, efficiency, and reliability.

Conduct process analysis and identify opportunities to improve yield, reduce waste, and streamline operations.

Develop and update process documentation, including P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and SOPs.

Provide engineering support for the installation and commissioning of new or modified process equipment.

Ensure all processes and modifications comply with hygiene, safety, and regulatory standards.

Contribute to CAPEX project planning and delivery where required.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Process Engineer within the Food & Beverage industry - brewery experience highly desirable.

Strong understanding of process systems such as brewing, fermentation, blending, CIP, and utilities.

Experience with process troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and optimisation techniques.

Competent in reviewing and updating process documentation and P&IDs.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.

Self-starter with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision
