I am currently recruiting for a client near Cardiff, looking for a Process Engineer on a 6 month contract.

The role is for an interesting client with a lot of history and will test your abilities in Chemical and Metallurgy engineering.

Duties:

Design, develop, optimise, and scale up processes for the efficient recovery of valuable metals from electronic waste.
Conduct laboratory trials, pilot studies, and scale-up to production level.
Monitor and optimise process performance to improve yield, safety, and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health & safety, and quality standards.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting to production teams.
Prepare process design documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, functional specifications, risk assessments).
Support commissioning activities, including FAT/SFAT, RAMS, and root cause analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, Engineering, Operations, SHE).
Manage and report on small-scale projects, budgets, and timelines.
Essential Skills Required:

Degree in Process, Chemical, Metallurgical, or Materials Engineering (or related field).
Minimum 2 years' experience in process engineering (preferably in metal recovery, chemical, or related industries).
Hands-on experience with process design, optimisation, and scale-up.
Strong knowledge of process safety (HAZOP, LOPA, DSEAR, ATEX, Risk Assessment).
Experience with commissioning processes and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in engineering calculations, process documentation, and MS Office.
Strong knowledge of HSE and environmental compliance.
