The Opportunity

A leading Tier 1 UK defence company is looking to add a Manufacturing Process Engineer to its engineering team. Known for delivering large-scale, complex fabrications and precision-engineered solutions, the company supports key defence programmes across the UK. This is a great opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects, driving improvements across manufacturing performance, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Support the manufacture of complex fabrications and components for defence applications.

Identify and implement improvements across processes, tooling, and fixtures to optimise production.

Analyse manufacturing and quality data to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

Promote lean manufacturing principles and help drive cost reduction and waste elimination efforts.

Lead or support structured problem-solving activities (e.g. 8D, RCA).

Contribute to new product introduction and advise on manufacturability.

Collaborate cross-functionally with design, production, quality, and planning teams.

Ensure all activities meet health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

What We’re Looking For

HND, Advanced Apprenticeship, or degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Production Engineering.

Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering role, ideally within a technical or industrial environment.

Knowledge of lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies.

SAP experience is beneficial but not essential.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
