Position: Laser Process Engineer
Location: Oxford, UK

A high-tech manufacturing company specialising in precision laser systems is seeking a Laser Process Engineer to join their expanding research and development team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on advanced materials processing technologies in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, optimise, and document laser-based processes for precision manufacturing applications

  • Plan and conduct experiments to evaluate laser-material interactions

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate laser processes into bespoke systems

  • Drive innovation to enhance process performance, reliability, and throughput

  • Work to high standards of documentation and reporting

  • Communicate effectively with colleagues across disciplines to support project delivery

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • Over 3 years of experience in a research and development environment

  • Solid understanding of lasers and optics

  • Knowledge of laser materials processing techniques (e.g. ablation, cutting, drilling, patterning)

  • High level of quality and attention to detail in technical documentation

  • Proven ability to innovate and improve process efficiency

  • Strong team player with effective communication skills
