High Speed Digital and Hardware Design Lead

Location: Stevenage

Salary: Up to £65,000 + 21% bonus, pension, flexible working

If you are a skilled electronics design professional with experience in high-speed digital and hardware design, who specialises in MPSoC FPGA development, with proficiency in VHDL, C, C++ or Python, then this is a remarkable opportunity to join a leading defence company as a High Speed Digital and Hardware Design Lead.

You will lead the development of cutting-edge high-speed digital electronics solutions, supporting applications such as SDR, radar processing, and sensor fusion. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to specify, design, and deliver complex hardware architectures, ensuring they meet rigorous security and performance standards.

This is a role for someone with a solid background in high-speed digital electronics, MPSoC FPGA design, high-speed serial interconnects, and SI/PI analysis. Your proficiency in VHDL, coupled with experience in C, C++ or Python, is essential for supporting hardware testing and debugging, whilst familiarity with DSP concepts applied to radar and optical sensors will be highly advantageous.

This role will see you become part of a team committed to excellence, with a long-term career pathway into technical leadership or specialist roles. Benefits include a competitive salary, company bonus, enhanced pension contributions, flexible working, and comprehensive support programs.

If you are passionate about pushing the boundaries of digital hardware design within a purpose-driven environment, we want to hear from you. Bring your expertise and ambition to a role that truly makes a difference.

Where to Advertise Semiconductor Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise semiconductor jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, academic channels and community routes that actually reach IC, fab and EDA talent. The candidate pool is one of the smallest and most specialised in any engineering discipline — spanning IC design engineers, process engineers, fab technicians, EDA tool developers, compound semiconductor physicists and power electronics specialists. General job boards are largely ineffective for semiconductor hiring. The community is tight-knit, highly academic in its roots and concentrated around a small number of university groups, fab facilities and design centres. Specialist boards, academic channels and direct community engagement are the primary sourcing strategies that work. This guide, published by SemiconductorJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise semiconductor roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
