This Electronics Engineer opportunity involves joining a technology team that designs high-performance imaging systems for challenging environments. The role includes participation in all phases of the product lifecycle, from concept to testing, delivery, and post-delivery activities. It offers comprehensive project involvement and the chance to see designs implemented within short timescales.

In this Electronics engineer role, you’ll be designing state-of-the-art electronics for advanced imaging systems, developing both digital and analogue hardware. You'll capture schematics and design at board level, perform circuit simulations, and ensure your designs are ready for manufacture and testing.

Your responsibilities will also include writing technical documentation such as assembly and test procedures, reports, and design descriptions. You’ll manage key technical aspects of projects, including design solutions, budgets, and schedules, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing to system-level trade-offs. Ultimately, you’ll play a vital role in the successful delivery of complex engineering projects.

Electronics Engineer essential requirements

Solid experience in electronics design
Experience in mixed-signal (analogue/digital) design
Strong skills in circuit-level debugging and testing
Working knowledge of scripting languages (Python, TCL, etc.)
Familiarity with FPGA design (VHDL)
Experience with design tools (Mentor Graphics is a plus)
Comfortable using standard lab test equipment

Where to Advertise Semiconductor Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise semiconductor jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, academic channels and community routes that actually reach IC, fab and EDA talent. The candidate pool is one of the smallest and most specialised in any engineering discipline — spanning IC design engineers, process engineers, fab technicians, EDA tool developers, compound semiconductor physicists and power electronics specialists. General job boards are largely ineffective for semiconductor hiring. The community is tight-knit, highly academic in its roots and concentrated around a small number of university groups, fab facilities and design centres. Specialist boards, academic channels and direct community engagement are the primary sourcing strategies that work. This guide, published by SemiconductorJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise semiconductor roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
