The opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior EC&I Engineer, where you will be responsible for leading the EC&I design efforts within multi-discipline engineering projects. These projects may involve EPCM or EPC frameworks and span across a variety of sectors, including Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, and Food. You will be involved in projects across their full lifecycle, from concept to commissioning, in both greenfield and brownfield applications.
These projects will vary in complexity and size, and will predominantly be based in the UK, though there may be opportunities to work on projects across Europe and other regions.
The role
This is a Contract (12 months+) or Permanent role and has been deemed inside IR35.
This will be based in Warrington, hybrid working available
Salary Range- £70- £75K per Anum Dependent on experience or Contract Rate £60- £65/hr Umbrella Dependent on experience
Your duties and responsibilities will be

  • Lead the EC&I engineering and design in accordance with the project scope and specifications.
  • Support the Lead Engineer in ensuring EC&I designs are delivered within budget, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Maintain change control and ensure consistency of the process design with other engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure the quality of the EC&I designs and adherence to required standards.
  • Participate in internal and external design reviews, presenting designs and progress to the Lead Engineer.
  • Lead and coordinate EC&I engineering activities across all disciplines including Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Process, and Automation.
  • Depending on the project size and complexity, you may be responsible for one project or a portfolio of projects.
  • Assist with construction, testing, and commissioning activities post-design (preferred).
    You will have the following qualifications and experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as an EC&I Engineer, working on single or multi-discipline projects within an Engineering, EPCM, or EPC company.
  • In-depth knowledge of EC&I engineering and design, with a good understanding of related disciplines such as Automation, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, and Process engineering.
  • Strong expertise in both Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines, with the ability to lead designs for both.
  • Experience with industry-standard EC&I design tools such as AMTECH, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A relevant degree (MEng, MSc, BSc, or BEng) in EC&I Engineering.
  • Solid understanding of current British and International Standards for EC&I engineering.
  • A result-oriented approach, focused on delivering top-quality engineering and designs that meet the client’s needs and the Lead Engineer's approval.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with an ability to manage engineering dependencies across disciplines, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently with a "one time right" mentality.
