Assistant Shift Team Leader

c£47,000 + Bonus + benefits

Sittingbourne, Kent

MC Technical Recruitment are looking for a Assistant Shift Team Leader / Senior Operations Technician to join the operations department of a biomass power station in Sittingbourne, Kent.

The ASTL will report into the Shift Team Leader and be responsible for the safe and efficient start up, shut down and running of the power station via a control room.

As a Assistant Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

•          Assisting the STL with operating, controlling, and monitoring boilers, pumps, steam turbines and heat exchangers via a DCS.

•          Operating the overhead crane efficiently when required.

•          Monitoring flow rates, temperature, pressure around the plant to ensure equipment is working safely, efficiently and complies with health and safety requirements.

•          Conducting plant walk rounds / routines and first line maintenance work on plant equipment when needed.

•          Completing all training provided to aid your understanding and develop your knowledge of the plant.

To be considered for this role you should have:

•          A relevant technical apprenticeship in an engineering discipline along with an HNC/ONC level qualification or similar.

•          Maintenance or operations experience from transferable heavy process engineering sectors such as Paper Mill, Power Station, Water Treatment, Chemical Production etc.

•          Royal or Merchant Navy Marine Engineers are also encouraged to apply.

•          High voltage experience is also desirable but not necessary.

•          A positive attitude and willingness to progress and develop in the role

•          Be flexible in terms of working on a 12 hour shift pattern (day and night shifts).
