Junior Process Engineer - Metals Refinery Pilot Plant - Permanent Staff - £30-35k + benefits

Location: Birmingham, UK | Travel: Occasional (Poland, Malawi, South Africa)

Our client is a cutting-edge rare earths company advancing mining, separation, and recycling technologies across the UK, EU, and USA. They’re seeking a Process Engineer to support and optimise a pilot hydrometallurgical plant.

This is a rare opportunity to gain hands-on experience operating and improving real-world chemical separation processes in a live pilot environment.

Key responsibilities:



Operate & optimise leaching, extraction, filtration systems

*

Develop PFDs, P&IDs, SOPs and troubleshoot plant issues

*

Analyse process data, improve yield & purity

*

Support scale-up and HAZOP/LOPA safety studies

Requirements:

*

MEng in Chemical Engineering

*

Experience in a hands on role onsite (either through a placement or post grad)

*

Strong Excel/data skills; ASPEN/METSIM a plus

*

Full UK work rights & Full UK Driver's License
