GRS are currently recruiting for an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to support commissioning activities on clean water treatment and pumping station projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team working across a variety of UK clean water sites, delivering critical infrastructure upgrades and new installations.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out commissioning of LV electrical systems and MCC panels on clean water sites.

*

Complete all commissioning documentation, including functional test reports, electrical test sheets, and O&M input.

*

Liaise with the delivery, controls, and mechanical teams to ensure systems are ready for commissioning and testing.

*

Identify and resolve snags and faults during commissioning, escalating issues as required to ensure timely resolution.

*

Ensure all electrical commissioning is carried out to the correct standards and complies with health and safety procedures.

*

Travel to various UK clean water sites as required – flexibility with travel and occasional overnight stays is essential.

Requirements:

*

Proven experience in electrical commissioning, ideally within the water/wastewater or process engineering sectors.

*

Strong knowledge of LV electrical systems, MCCs, instrumentation, and control interfaces.

*

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

*

Competent in producing commissioning documentation and technical reports.

*

ECS/CSCS card and appropriate electrical qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition).

*

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Desirable:

*

Experience with clean water or utilities frameworks.

*

Confined space, DOMS, or EUSR water hygiene card.

*

Experience with PLC I/O testing and basic fault-finding.

If you’re a commissioning engineer with water or industrial project experience and are looking for your next challenge, we’d love to hear from you. Please apply with your CV.

Where to Advertise Semiconductor Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise semiconductor jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, academic channels and community routes that actually reach IC, fab and EDA talent. The candidate pool is one of the smallest and most specialised in any engineering discipline — spanning IC design engineers, process engineers, fab technicians, EDA tool developers, compound semiconductor physicists and power electronics specialists. General job boards are largely ineffective for semiconductor hiring. The community is tight-knit, highly academic in its roots and concentrated around a small number of university groups, fab facilities and design centres. Specialist boards, academic channels and direct community engagement are the primary sourcing strategies that work. This guide, published by SemiconductorJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise semiconductor roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
